Playing Catch-Up

Some quick links to distract you from how long it's been since I last posted...

Lisa found a study about the color of candy, and how that can affect kids' behavior. Not sure I'm completely buying it, but if the internet says it's true...

Charlie, on the other hand, thinks that "junk sleep" might be the problem. Apparently, lack of sleep can be linked to obesity? Maybe we should start counting scapegoats instead of sheep. (Burned!)

Finally, for entertainment purposes only, a stop-motion video that my friends made:

Both articles were interesting (and I adore the adventures of Buxby), but seeing as I overslept this morning, the sleep piece really caught my attention.

I'm a big proponent of The Nap. I've often said I'd stay at work for another 45 minutes for a daily 30 minute nap opportunity (napportunity?). Maybe that's what it would take to get kids the sleep they need - a nap period. Hey, it worked in kindergarten. Lack of sleep can, as the article suggests, have links to obesity. If kids are required to take gym and soccer moms everywhere are trying to overhaul cafeteria food options, I think there's a place for naptime...

Awesome links.

I'll admit, I sometimes fall asleep with my headphones on, but never at my desk, or watching tv. That's just weird.

And if I got eight hours, I would have to go to bed at 10. Not cool...
